Cavalry and boom civ: they can build an additional Town Center already in Feudal Age. Mounted units move 5/10/15% faster in Feudal/Castle/Imperial Age. Archery Ranges and Stables cost 75 wood less. Siege Workshop and Battering Ram are available in Feudal Age, the Capped Ram in Castle Age. Kipchaks (unique unit from the Castle) are mounted archers that fire several arrows per shot. Steppe Husbandry: Scout Cavalry line, Steppe Lancers and Cavalry Archers train twice as fast. Cuman Mercenaries: every ally can train 5 free Elite Kipchaks per Castle. Team: Palisade Walls +33% HP.
Usually a Scout rush with a second Town Center behind it already in Feudal Age – for Hera by far the best way to play them, and it almost always wins if unpunished. Less often Archers or a Drush; Feudal Age Rams are possible but rare. They reach Castle Age late but with a big economy: Knights, Steppe Lancers and Kipchaks, which arrive fast and in numbers thanks to Steppe Husbandry. Their cavalry is faster than yours – an open economy gets raided constantly.
Punish the second Town Center: early pressure with Archers or Men-at-Arms hits them before the boom pays off. Against Feudal Age Rams use melee units, arrows barely help. Pikemen and Skirmishers are a cheap base against Knights, Steppe Lancers and Kipchaks, Camel Riders against their Paladins. Their defense is weak: no Stone Walls, no Gates, no tower upgrades and no Architecture. They also lack Arbalester, Bracer, Husbandry, Redemption and all gunpowder.
